THE FRANK AND WALTERS / TRAINS, BOATS AND PLANES (CD)

確かアイルランドのバンド。コークという所の出身だったと記憶している。

90年代に入ってからだから最近だけど、もう10年選手。解散したかも？

音はいわゆるネオアコの部類に入るのだろうか、それともオルタナポップとか...

買ったきっかけは次作の『THE GRAND PARADE』が名盤という事で、確か雑誌か何かで

紹介されていたのがきっかけ。確かに甘酸っぱいメロディーと臭い歌い方が

ツボにはまると結構聴ける。これを最初に聴いてダサイと思った人はもう二度と

聴けないだろう。『THE GRAND PARADE』が気に入ったので、他のも欲しいと思って

いたところ、案の定こういうのは中古で安く手に入る。よくよくライナーを読んで

いたら、プロディースがEDWYN COLLINSではないか。なるほどねー。EDWYN COLLINS

と言えばORANGE JUICEというので有名だし、AZTEC CAMERAのアルバムにも参加しているし、

妙に一人納得。他のアルバムもぜひ揃えたいバンド。
